Biography : Abbas Ibn Firnas, Person Who Really The First Time Discover an Airplane

Do you know someone who first discover the basic concept of the airplane ? which the first to prove that human could fly ? some of you will say wright brothers. Your answer isn't wrong but, still not quite true. So, who really the first discover an airplane or more precisely its basic concept. Here, I will explain the answer of your question and prove wright brothers are not the first discover design of airplane.

In the 9th century, the Era of the Umayyad Chaliphate II or better known as the Chaliphate of Cordoba, exactly in Ronda, Spain, was born someone named Abbas Ibn Firnas. He is a polymath, discoverer, physicist, technician, musician, alchemist, also a poet. He is moslem people from the Berber tribe. During his lifetime he lives at Cordoba. 

The story begins in 852 AD, when Abbas which one has interest on aerodynamics science see acrobatic stunts which performed by Armen Firman. He is doing spectacular performance, in a way jumped from Cordoba Mosque tower without falling at all. To support the action, Armen using clothes suit made of silk and furnishing with wood. This is what inspiring Abbas to found how to make human can fly.

Abbas began to study the principles of flight to build his own flying machine. He spent 20 years to study. In the year 875, he started his experiment and jumping from Jabal Al-'Arus Hill. He just make a pair of wings made of silk and wood as the frame. This plane managed him fly for 10 minutes in space. Unfortunately the experiment didn't end well. 

He didn't manage to land and hit the ground with a force that caused serious injuries to his back. Then he learn deficiency of  his landing and he got the conclusion that he need tail to act as rudder for controlling flight. Even he write a book which emphasized that very essential to have a tail for stabilize flight.
